FC Spokane & APX Strength Form New Partnership
SPOKANE -- March. 27, 2014 -- FC Spokane, the most progressive club in the Inland Northwest is proud to announce that APX Strength is the new official Sports Performance Training provider of FC Spokane players and coaches. The main purpose of introducing sports performance training to FC Spokane players is to prevent injury and increase athleticism. This will enable our players to perform at a higher level.
Beginning after 2014 tryouts APX will become a part of the FC Spokane Summer Academy running daily sessions at the Spokane SOccer Center with all players attending Summer Academy. APX will also provide winter off season training to all Premier Academy players at the APX training Center in downtown Spokane. Premier and Select players from FC Spokane will also be able to attend sessions and camps that APX will run during spring and fall soccer seasons.
The APX goal is to implement a Functional Sport-Specific Soccer Training Program that advocates proper dynamic movement, spinal dynamic training, total-body strength development, speed/agility technique work and core development. Those items are heavily influenced throughout every training program, as well as Nutrition & Supplementation assistance with APX’ own Registered Sports Dietitian. All of these modalities will ultimately benefit every player at every age, boy and girl. But most importantly, the APX system is solely designed to keep FC Spokane players healthy and injury free.
FC Spokane Director of Coaching Stephen Brown said: “Speed, strength and conditioning training is an integral part of all elite sports programs. By incorporating sports performance training and nutrition in to what we offer our Premier Academy players, we provide an invaluable resource that will increase strength, speed, balance and agility to compliment the technical skills being learned at FC Spokane team training and Academy sessions. We are all looking forward to working with Drew and his team of coaches to add a new and exciting element to our development model.”
Drew Buchkoski the APX Strength Program Director holds a Master's Degree in Sport & Athletic Administration. Buchkoski is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). Buchkoski said of the new partnership with FC Spokane, “APX Strength Sports Performance is proud to be partnering with all FC Spokane teams’ players, coaches, parents and affiliates. The core belief systems of APX match those of FC Spokane in that both organizations provide the highest level of competitive opportunity through training in a positive environment. We are excited and look forward to working with the players and coaches of all the teams within FC Spokane.”
