About FC Spokane
FC Spokane is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation and affiliated with Spokane Valley Jr. Soccer Association, the Washington State Youth Soccer Association, and US Club Soccer. The Club previously merged the River City Soccer Club and The Spokane Valley Flames Soccer Club. The club existed as River City Soccer Club until changing the name of the club to FC Spokane in February 2012. The club now consists of Boys and Girls Premier and District soccer teams. The club continues to attract highly qualified coaches and trainers who have an intense desire to develop players both as soccer athletes and as people. Vision
Under the direction of FC Spokane, youth can learn the needed life skills of sportsmanship, mental toughness, self-discipline, commitment and proper work ethic through athletic competition. The group situation encountered in training sessions and matches will provide opportunities for learning how to work with diverse personalities and help achieve proficiency in conflict resolution.
A by-product of the FC Spokane program is the development of leaders who have pride, integrity, high self-esteem and exhibit "true" sportsmanship through this great game that provides physical fitness for a lifetime.
Through competition at the highest level of play available and participation in high visibility tournaments, the dedicated athlete who wishes a chance to compete at the collegiate level will be prepared to seek that goal. It is the direct aim of the program to place as many FC Spokane youth soccer players into high school and college soccer programs as possible.
As an end result of participating in the FC Spokane program, players will possess the necessary life skills to obtain future success whether it is in athletic competition or the professional work place.
FC Spokane exists to provide opportunities for young soccer players to fulfill their potential by playing at the highest level of which they are capable. The players will train in a positive learning environment with dedicated and knowledgeable coaches who are able to share their passion for the game while setting exemplary standards of good sportsmanship and good citizenship. High academic standards are encouraged and expected.
The FC Spokane vision is to:
- Develop a curriculum and training environment that players excel by being a part of and other clubs wish to replicate.
- To be instantly recognizable by the quality of soccer played and the exemplary conduct of its players, coaches and parents.
- To have motivated, professional, talented coaches who have access to the best training aids and educational representatives at the college and professional level.
- To have active players who give back to the community through soccer-related service and to have former players return to the club when their playing days are done.
To support and assist the SPVJSA and the greater Spokane area in further developing soccer at all levels.
Mission
The mission of FC Spokane is to promote the development of youth in our community through participation in soccer. Our goal is to provide an environment that offers recreational, social and physical development for youth soccer players of all skill and ability levels. We are committed to providing participants with the opportunity to develop athletically and personally in a positive, supportive and safe environment. FC Spokane encourages and promotes ethical and moral behavior, good sportsmanship, community involvement and good citizenship.
